Wage Order No. NCR-27: New Minimum Wage for NCR
The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board – NCR recently released RA No. 6727 (Wage Rationalization Act) as the legal basis for Wage Order No. NCR-27, which grants a new minimum wage increase for private sector workers in the National Capital Region. Employers and HR practitioners should review the following details to ensure timely and full compliance.
Total Wage Increase
The Wage Order provides a total minimum wage increase of P85 per day, to be implemented in two tranches:
- First Tranche: P60 per day, effective July 25, 2026
- Second Tranche: P25 per day, effective January 20, 2027

The prescribed wage increase applies to all minimum wage earners in the private sector within the National Capital Region. This coverage holds regardless of the worker’s position, designation, or employment status, and irrespective of the method by which wages are paid.
Penalties for Non-Compliance
Any person, corporation, trust, firm, partnership, association, or entity that refuses or fails to pay the prescribed increase shall be dealt with under Section 12 of RA No. 6727, as amended by Republic Act No. 8188. We strongly encourage all covered establishments to align their payroll systems ahead of each effectivity date to avoid penalties and ensure a smooth transition.
